Emergency & Urgent Care
Accidents happen, South Bay Veterinary Care is here for you.
We triage every pet as soon as it arrives. If the pet is found to be in critical need of medical attention, the pet is treated immediately. Pets that are assessed to be stable are seen by the doctors as quickly as possible. We do our very best to keep the waiting to a minimum, but like every emergency room, there are busy times when there may be a wait. If you are unsure if you are having a pet emergency please give us a call so one of our staff members can assist you.
South Bay Veterinary Care has a veterinarian and personnel on duty 7 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent situation your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and a technician working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately.
We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening. If you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
